| The Underground Gardens Conservancy is a California non profit charitable corporation. Collectively, we are a group dedicated to furthering the aims of the Forestiere Underground Gardens (California Registered Historical Landmark No. 916) through educational programs, special tours, fundraising events, publicity and other assistance. The specific aims and primary purposes of Forestiere Underground Gardens, and inherently The Underground Gardens Conservancy, are to preserve, restore, construct, reconstruct, stabilize and otherwise rehabilitate and beautify the aesthetic character of the structures, buildings, gardens and premises known as the Forestiere Underground Gardens. In addition, both organizations strive to conserve and promote the Underground Garden's cultural, ecological and historical significance and preserve its landmark status. |  |

The Conservancy is run by a Board of Directors and membership is open to all who want to join. Membership is just $35.00 annually and will help us to achieve our goals. For your money, you will receive a Conservator certificate, a monthly Newsletter, and the satisfaction of knowing you are helping a worthy cause. Tax deductible donations are also an option if you want to donate more than $35.00. Become a Conservator today! In the long run, the Conservancy would like to make the Underground Gardens and surrounding community a major tourist attraction. We would like to see the area maintained as a Mediterranean retreat from the hot Central Valley sun, but would like to add restaurants, open air parks, bocce ball arenas, and other Sicilian and Italian influenced venues. This dream will take a big committment, both financially and in creative energy, from our community, our leaders, the Forrestiere family, and our members. |
